Hello there! My name is Chalish Fadhilah Amin from UGM IUP Psychology 2021 partaking in a thesis research for my bachelor's degree. This game is part of a paper that researches the effects of game design on memory retention.

Memory retention is described as an individual's ability to store and recall memories when needed (Amin & Malik, 2014). This is especially important for studying and doing exams as a student would have to memorize the key words that will be tested. However, since the COVID-19 pandemic, students have lost motivation to study and memorize due to a greater difficulty to stay focused in front of a screen (Amponsah et al., 2022). To mitigate this, educators should try to find more innovative ways to engage the students into the learning material. This experiment aims to create a more engaging learning experience by integrating game design into a memory-based test such as including dialogue and story, animations, sound effects and music, and many more elements that one can expect from a video game. The research differs from other tests by taking the form of a recall test that requires participants to memorize a list of words and type with their keyboard the words they remember.

To partake in this quantitative research, the participants would have to be a university student from the age of 18-27 due to their prior experience with online learning as well as their relatability to game design elements. Please only proceed forward if you have fulfilled these criteria.
